FACTS: Oklahoma passed a law prohibiting the sale on “nonintoxicating” 3.2 percent beer to males under the age of 21, but allowed females over the age of 18 to purchase said beer. The statute was challenged as Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection violation by Curtis Craig, a male between the ages of 18 and 21 and by an Oklahoma vendor of alcohol.


Billy Taylor v. Louisiana, 419 U.S. 522 (1975)

FACTS: Mr. Billy Taylor claimed that his constitutional rights to a jury drawn from a venire constituting a fair cross section of the community were violated because of the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure which disallowed the selection of women for the jury who had not filed a written declaration of her desire to be subject to jury service.
